Bhim Foundation Nepal, a non-profit organization, was founded on April 3, 2019, under Sub-section (1) of Section 5 of the Companies Act, 2006. It is officially registered with Nepal's Inland Revenue Department (June 6, 2019) and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council of Nepal (June 7, 2019) under Section 13 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992. Additionally, the foundation is locally registered with Ward No. 05 of Budhanilkantha Municipality.
As a non-governmental social organization, Bhim Foundation Nepal is guided by its mission of "Building Hopes in Mankind."
The foundation’s origins are closely tied to the personal journey of its founder, Mr. Devilal Shrestha (Dev). After losing his father at a young age, Devilal grew up as the fifth of six siblings. Following their father’s passing, the family faced significant challenges: his elder brother, then 17, and his three older sisters left school to support their mother, enabling Devilal and his younger brother to continue their education.
Over time, his sisters moved to Kathmandu for work, creating an opportunity for Devilal and his younger brother to pursue their studies in the capital. Inspired by his family’s resilience and determination, Devilal was motivated to establish a platform that could offer hope and support to individuals facing similar struggles.
This vision materialized with the founding of Bhim Foundation Nepal in 2019. Since then, Devilal and his wife, co-founder Mrs. Sujita Lama Shrestha, have been dedicated to advancing the foundation’s mission. Mrs. Sujita Lama Shrestha serves as the Program Director, while Mr. Devilal Shrestha acts as the President.
Together, they are committed to empowering individuals, transforming communities, and instilling hope for a better future.
